Adios Salamanca

A couple hours before it is time to get on the bus to head to the Madrid Airport. It will be a 3 hour bus ride. Then it will be time to play the waiting game. We don’t leave from Madrid until 11am to arrive in Buffalo at 6pm with a layover in Washington DC. But before we take flight, we will need to say “see you later” too all of our friends that we have made while on this trip. Hopefully, there will not be any tears, but I cannot make any promises. It is sad to leave, but I know I have my family and friends waiting for me to come home. I have missed them dearly.

Italy was great, one of my favorites, France, I loved seeing the Eiffel tower from my room, just to sit on the ledge and enjoy the nice weather looking out. And Spain, I felt right at home speaking the language and being able to understand and know my way around this city. These three countries became my home for those short 5 weeks, Europe became my home for 16 weeks.

Now it’s time to go back to Buffalo, my home. It will be a challenge to get used to how things are once again. But prepared or not here I come, ready to start a new chapter of my life.

Could it be true?!?!

In two days, we will be flying back home. Time flew, and I cannot believe we will on a plane home on Saturday morning. Classes are over with, finals have been taken. All that is left is to finish packing and enjoy the last two days here in Salamanca. I have made some amazing friends on this trip, some friends that will last me a lifetime. I have also, visited some amazing places, a total of 15 cities, 5 countries and for being over here for 15 weeks, that is pretty amazing!

—Italy: Naples, Florence, Milan, Pisa, Venice, Rome

—France: Paris, Versaille

—Ireland: Dublin

—Spain: Salamanca, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Mallorca

—Portugal: Porto

I have taken amazing pictures, even though they don ‘t capture the whole beauty and feeling, I have made memories that will last me a lifetime, I have laughed like never before, and I have stories to tell of my wonderful experience.

Majorca!!! <3 <3 <3

Majorca is beautiful…it was a rocky start but we finally made it to the hotel and the beach. We have been eating “home cooked” meals every day, cooked by our friends Marie and Vinny, we have been down to the beach every day and enjoying the sun, and we have been enjoying the pools and outside beds to relax. We still have to see whats to come for the rest of the week. Hopefully more hot sun and nice breeze.

OFF for spring break

SO in about 2 weeks we will be heading back to the United States :’( but before that we are off for spring break in Mallorca, an island off of Spain. We will be spending Easter and a whole week with our friends Vinny and Marie. Our plans for this upcoming week is relaxation, spa, beach, zip lining, and more relaxation. We can’t wait to just sit by the beach and reminisce on all of our adventures. Even though it is almost over, we will still be making the most of our time, enjoying every moment and second we get to spend in beautiful Spain.

At this time tomorrow we will all be in Mallorca having a great time. <3 <3

Porto,Portugal

Porto was amazing, we couldn’t have expected any more, The 6-hour sketchy bus ride was definitely worth it. We arrived in Porto at 6am, and our hostel was the finest hostel we have ever stayed in. Each floor was themed to a different Port Wine. Each morning one of the guys who owned the hostel baked a cake for everyone at breakfast.

Our first day in Porto, we spent the day Wine tasting, I can say we have become experts on wine, well maybe not experts but close to it, we learned how the wine is made, how many years it takes for wines to taste a certain way, if it’s dry or sweet, etc. Later on in the day, Shelby and I shopped for some traditional dresses and purses that we kept seeing in the stores. Sunday was a day of relaxation, we took our time walking the streets and making the most of our weekend.

Porto was filled with hills, and stairs to climb and ofcourse we went up and down them complaining but laughing at the same time. Our song for the weekend was “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. Our legs are definitely going to be in shape when we get back. :D
